The 2016 Formula V8 season went underway this week at Montmelò as teams and drivers of the series lined-up for the first collective test of the year. Fielding their recently-announced drivers Renè Binder and Roy Nissany, the Lotus 3.5 team successfully put more than 300 laps under their belt at the Circuit de Catalunya, for a total of almost 2000 kilometers completed with no major mechanical issues.

Nissany, who ended up sixth on both days, showed great consistency and perseverance in his work on-track and coordinating. ”It has been a tough couple of days. We started with an issue to the fuel pump which already affected me last year. Somehow we wasted the first day a bit, but in the second all went right, we were at the front end of the charts. We tested many solutions, some were good, others not. I had a really good chemistry with the car and I feel I can express myself well on the track. This is the most important thing. I feel great with the team and look forward to the next steps” said Roy.
